Guenael Thomas Strutt

I am an engineering manager and technology leader. I bring concepts to market by distilling projects into practical steps – engineers have a clear path forward and stakeholders gain valuable insight into a product’s value. I am motivated by the challenge of fixing inefficiencies in organizational processes. Through rigor and focus, I shorten project timelines and provide visibility to stakeholders.

Case Studies

I designed and built a state-of-the-art machine learning infrastructure to collect acoustic samples, run signal processing simulations, train ML models, compute performance metrics, and produce graphics-rich reports.

I introduced rigorous performance characterization methodologies, delivering actionable, user-centric metrics to stakeholders so that trade-offs are clearly understood.

I established all performance requirements for the Amazon Fire Phone's Dynamic Perspective feature. I determined acceptance criteria through extensive user testing, introduced performance impairments into an idealized tracker, and measured the subjective effects on users.

I produced a 10-fold gain in real-world system performance through an advanced and elegant algorithm for opportunistic link adaptation.
